The renowned wine tutorial has revealed the 12 successful scholars who will undertake the five-day program later this year.

The scholars were chosen from a record-number 180 applicants across the hospitality, winemaking, retail, and media space.

Amongst the successful scholars are Louella Mathews of Trippas White Group, Penelope Vine of Trader House, Emma Farrelly of The State Buildings and Como The Treasury, and Kaylene Reynolds of Prince Wine Store.

The scholars will undertake the tutorial from 30 October to 3 November in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley.

The tutorial covers a range of wine education sectors, with particular focus on wine judging skills and knowledge of the wider Australian wine scene and history.

“As always it was a difficult decision choosing who should attend the Tutorial, even more so in 2023 with record applications,” says Chair of the Board Sally Evans.

“I know the entire board is excited about the strength, diversity and backgrounds of this year’s candidates and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to the Hunter.”

The Len Evans Tutorial was founded in 2001 by renowned Australian wine judge and industry leader Len Evans AO OBE.
